What should I expect from our session?
On the day of the shoot, we'll look at the clothes you brought and we'll figure out the different looks we want to try out. Once we're all set, I'll take some starter pics to make sure all the technical stuff is in order, then we'll make sure you're happy with the way things are looking (I told you! We're a team!) Once we're both feeling good about lighting, the goofing off will commence! We'll shoot several different clothing/background options, until we're positive we've got at least a handful of winners.

What should I bring?
I usually ask that you bring somewhere between three to five outfits for us to choose from. Solid colors are great, simple patterns work well, too. We want the focus on you, not your clothes. You may want to bring along your hair and makeup gear for potential touch ups, unless we schedule a hair/makeup stylist. For actors, I suggest bringing clothes that suggest different "types" you see for yourself (parent, professional, blue collar, leading man, etc... we can discuss this in more detail before our session). For everyone else, our goal is to capture your attitude and personality. Bring options that communicate the way you want to be perceived. Other than clothes and makeup, feel free to bring anything you'd like. Bottle of water, maybe? Scotch? Comfy slippers? Your call.

Will you travel to me?
Maybe! I generally like to work in an area where I can control the lighting, so traveling means moving gear, which means more time, which means there's likely going to be an additional fee. That said, I'm a reasonable and flexible guy, and I'll do my best to accommodate you and your budget.

What's involved in retouching?
So here's the deal... I won't change your eye color or get rid of the big mole on your face or make you look thirty years younger. What I will do is clear up blemishes, freshen up your eyes, knock out a stray hair or two, maybe brighten your teeth a little, clean the Oreo crumbs off your shirt... that kind of stuff. I want you to look like you, but I want you to look like you on your best day.

When will I receive my proofs?
Once we finish our session, I'll ask that you give me about two weeks to process the photos and get them ready for review. I'm trying to set reasonable expectations for myself.

When will I receive my finished images?
After you let me know which photos you'd like retouched, I'll begin working right away. Just like the proofs, I ask for about two weeks.

I'm in a hurry and need my headshots ASAP!
That's not a question.

I'm in a hurry and need my headshots ASAP! Can you stop being a smartass and help me?
There we go. That's something I get asked quite a bit, and YES I can help you with that! I can deliver your retouched/full-size images in as little as 24 hours, if necessary, but additional fees will apply.

What's the best way to pay?
Venmo or Check* is my preferred method of payment. CashApp is okay, too, but it's not my fave. I can accept credit cards, debit cards, and PayPal, but each of those will incur a 5% transaction fee. I guess I can accept cash, too, but cash is the equivalent of paying me with a pig or a handful of polished stones. I'll take it, but I don't really know what to do with it.
*Please make checks payable to: Special Boy, Inc.
